Creations by Anna Gouthier & Brand Anastasia Persephone
In 1995 Anna Gouthier takes over the management of a family hotel located in Belo Horizonte, builds a convention center on land acquired behind it and connects the new building to the main building. The new built area has parking facilities for 150 vehicles, a theater for 1000 people, and other areas for events.
She then uses her collection of handcrafted textiles purchased from around the world to decorate the hotel’s public areas and the vast walls of the Convention Center. Thus, rich samples of Indian silks and her own compositions made by oriental textiles, mainly from Southeast Asia, are framed with gilded wood and sometimes marble.
In the hotel business, Anna found herself with many leftovers of beautiful upholstery fabrics, which she wished to use for some practical purpose. Additionally, each time she found herself in a faraway country, she sought out local textiles and embroidery. So, from 2016 she creates an exclusive collection of Handbags and Wallets under the label of Anastasia Persephone, which is also the name of the narrator and main character of her books.
The four collections created so far are properly named Recycled, Handcrafted, Exotic and Parties, according to the origin of the material used and the format of each piece that she personally designs and decorates, and these are sold in the brand’s store located on the Dayrell Hotel reception.
